Old Testament
In ref to sacrifices. How was there time to do all of the sacrifices for all of the people required (such as in Leviticus). If they did not do all of the sacrifices as presented, did they have a store of livestock as people brouht their sacrifices for various things, (sin offerings, wave offerings, etc)

That's a good question Laura, and I don't know the answer! I think that I have heard that people often bought the animals that they offered for sacrifice. For example, the shepherds in Bethlehem were actually tending the flocks that would be used for the Passover sacrifice. I'm not sure of the time factor or how that was handled, as I believe sacrifices had to be done in the temple, and there was only one temple. I don't know whether sacrifices could happen in synagogues. I think that Israel might have been small enough where they were still able to offer all the required sacrifices though.

Maybe someone who has learned more about this stuff can help you better.

I don't know the answer - but my idea is that some of the sacrifices were there as a deterent - so the idea was the because the sacrifice was so large, it would stop you from doing the sin in the first place. Of course, Jesus sacrifice was so large, that out of thanksgiving we are deterred from doing any more sins.............
