Hey Bessie,

:-)

Do you want a practical resource to help you flesh-out a good understanding of what you have just been talking about here? You mentioned "I can present my concerns to him and trust the help of the Holy Spirit for lasting change," and I believe that I can point you to something you might really resonate with on this point.

Lemme know!

Praying with you,

Tom

Tom,

I'll take a practical resource to help me flesh out a good understanding of what we've been talking about here. What do you have?

Craig

Hey Craig, Bessie,

Craig, you might already have it, brother! But just in case you don't, and to offer it to Bessie too, I am encouraging you and anyone else on the thread to have a look at Tim Day's current series called "Inside Out" at The Meeting House (podcast found on iTunes audio/video download or for audio/video streaming at www.themeetinghouse.ca). If Bessie has said "I grew up thinking that it was wrong to ask God to change my character or to tell him what to do" and is new to the idea that God CAN make these changes in us, then the series will be a refreshing and uplifting thing to take in.

:-)

Praying with you,

Tom

Thank you Tom and Craig,

I will look at this resource
Craig from Illinois 02/08/2011 20:07
Thank you Tom for that resource. Bessie, anything that Tom recommends I would consider following. Too a point...

... uses one hand to twist Craig's arm behind his back, clamps other hand over Craig's mouth; quickly ushers him to the door, smiling pleasantly to Bessie and nodding politely...

Brian, Tom and Craig are rough-housing in the house!
Craig from Illinois 02/09/2011 11:00
I'm not even sure what just happened!
Bessie 02/09/2011 17:39
um....

Well, in explaining a joke, the joke loses momentum...

...but in the interest of un-confusing you... ;-)

Since Craig and I are friends and are known to each other, we can pester one another here and there. If you can imagine us all conversing in a room, when Craig said to Bessie "anything that Tom recommends I would consider following. Too a point...," then it would have been that I (light-heartedly) "use(d) one hand to twist Craig's arm behind his back, clamp(ed) other hand over Craig's mouth; quickly usher(ed) him to the door, smiling pleasantly to Bessie and nodding politely" just as a way of good-naturedly elbowing Craig in the ribs.

:-)

Anywhoooo....

Onward :-)

Tom
