Bible Questions and Spiritual Discussion

We know "The Word" is Jesus, Right?

Just from a general observation on our DAB forum posts, I wonder if people are knowingly using the term "God's Word" incorrectly. God's Word is Jesus (John 1:1-4 and 14-18). I know that there are different ways to us the phrase "God's Word" in context. But sometimes I hear people use the term in it's implied form that God's Word is the Bible when they should be saying Jesus instead. In fact, if I were to scan through some of these posts and replace the term "God's Word" with "the Bible", we might just raise our eyebrows.

The Bible is the best place to be introduced to Jesus, but it's not Jesus. The scriptures are precious, but not as precious as Jesus, the Holy Spirit or God. Are we subconsciously revealing something about our faith (or lack of) in the Resurrected Christ when we substitute "God's Word" as in "the Bible" instead of as in "Jesus"?

Just something to think about.

Craig, yes the word became flesh. Thanks for the reminder.
