Bible Questions and Spiritual Discussion

Philippines Christians
Today on your DAB commentary I think you said that 93% of the Phillipinos. are Christians or following Christ. Statistics show that 93 % are Catholic and 2 1/2% are Evangelicals. Are you inferring that all Catholics are Christian? It appears to me that most Catholics seem not to be, though SOME seem to be. My evaluation is based upon much heresy in their core doctrines.

I would assert that Catholics /are/ Christian. However there are some non-Catholic groups that claim that we are not, that what we believe is heresy. But I would argue with that claim.

SPIRITUAL TRUTH
In an effort to engage in a meaningful spiritual conversation between Catholics and Protestants the first step is to determine what is spiritual truth? What is the bases of spiritual truth?
My starting and ending point is that truth is a person, Jesus Christ who said "I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life." (John 14:6) He further said that His word is TRUTH (John 17:17). His word is the Bible and therefore is my starting and ending point.

In view of this do you wish to continue our conversation?

Sure! But note I don't see the word "spiritual" before truth in the verses you quoted. I just see the word "Truth". And also, yes, the bible is the word of God and it is true, but Jesus in his words that you quoted isn't referring to the Bible per se; He is referring to the words He is saying of which many are recorded in the Bible, but not all were. John 21:25

I'm more than happy to have a conversation!

I'll grant you that the Bible is true. But as for the basis of all truth we must confess if we believe scripture that it is Jesus himself who is the truth, and that it is the church of the living God, protected by the Holy Spirit, which is the pillar and foundation of truth. John 16:13, 1 Tim 3:15.
