Tell Us About Yourself and What the DAB Means To You

Hello and please pray for me

Hi everyone,
My name is Mike from St. Louis, MO and I've been listening for about a week. I'm pretty blown away by the authenticity, support, and love this community has for each other. It's something I've never seen or experienced.
About 5 years ago, God got hold of my heart and started to change me. I've not had any other Christians in my life, and the last 5 years have been really hard as I've wrestled with sin, shame, and just trying to figure out how to live this new life. I've feared putting myself out there for fear of what "real Christians" would think about me and my past. So, over the last several weeks, I've been crying out that God would help me. The other morning specifically, I asked that he would burst into my life and do whatever it takes to help me finally get off the starting block in my Christian life. That morning, I found the DAB site and started listening (the next day I sat next to a pastor on a plane!)
Please pray that God would keep working in my heart and that maybe I could find a church family with the same love and authenticity of this community. Please pray that I could overcome my fears, overcome the shame of my past, and accept that God really does love this broken sinner. I'm thankful for finding this community; I'll be praying for all of you.

HI Mike: No need to worry about 'if' God loves you....He does and Jesus hung out with sinners and that would be 'all ' of us. The ground is level at the cross and one of the greatest things about the Love of Christ is that He does not see us as people do. He doesn't see one sin as any worse than the other. He is just looking for those who are at the end of themselves and realize their need for Him. I hope as you read God's Word you will see the sinners who became saints because of their 'relationship' with Jesus Christ and not because of cleaning up their act. Just fall in love with Jesus....that is what it is all about.

Hi Mike and welcome I am also very new around here. But I couldnt agree more with what Katy was just saying. I am glad you found DAB keep listening and participating in the forums. You're on the right track so go ahead and forgive yourself for whatever you did in the past because God already has and how are you going to move forward if you keep beating your self up what you did in the past?

Welcome to both Mike and Don. I've been with DAB for 3 years. And I can truly say it's been life changing. God bless you guys this Christmas and upcoming new year!!
